Summer Camp
Annual Troop Summer Camp

Each year Troop 218 attends a registered BSA Summer Camp so our scouts can earn rank & merit badges as well as experience the community & comradery of numerous other scout troops.  We try to rotate to different camps and locations to provide a variety of settings, geography and experiences.  Camp is a week long, often has a family visit night mid-week, features meals at the camp's dining hall and can have upt to 800-900 scouts attending during that week.  It's one of the most memorable trips a scout will experience during his scouting career.

Summer Camp 2012 -Camp Powhatan
July 21-27, 2012

This year Troop 218 will attend Camp Powhatan in Hiawassie, VA.  It was the camp of the Blue Ridge Council and  the largest council-owned scout reservation in U.S., covering 17,500 acres.  The camp is located roughly 28 miles West of Richmond, VA.  It offers a certified scout experience to 10,000 scouts each year.  The last time we attended this camp was in 2002.  As well as a full watersports/aquatic program, the camp has a 60' climbing tower,  state-of-the-art dining hall as well as having the New River running through the reservation.     (For more information & updates use this link.)
