  • Nantala Outdoor Center (NOC)     "One of the Best Outfitters on Earth"-National Geographic Magazine.  Rafting, Kayaking, Flyfishing & Outdoor Leadership courses located on 7 rivers throughout the South.  We visited near Asheville, NC in July 2008
  • Kitty Hawk Kites (KHK)    The world's largest hang gliding school. Located in Nags Head, NC, KHK offers hang gliding, kayaking, kiteboarding, parasailing, dolphin watching, sailing, jet skiing, aero tours, wakeboarding, surfing, tubing & segway tours.  We visited in Kitty Hawk/Currituck in June 2009
  • US National Whitewater Center (USNWC)  Training center for the US Olympic kayaking team.  Features man-made, turbine powered rapids for rafting, kayaing, flat-water canoeing, mmountain biking, hiking, climbing, zip-lines & entertainment.  We visited outside of Charlotte, NC in July 2010.
  • Wrightsville Performance Sailing  Cruises, charters & lessons out of Seapath Marina, Wrightsville Beach, NC
  • Cape Fear Sailing Academy   An acredited ASA Sailing facility with sailing, instruction and racing on 22'-36' monohull sailboats, located at the newly renovated Southport Marina, Southport, NC. We visited in July 2011.
  • ZipQuest An adventure facility with 8 ziplines, eco-tours, a swing-shot and more.  Spanning the 55 acre Carvers Falls Nature Preserve with floating suspension bridges and historic Carvers Falls, ZipQuest is located just outside of Fayetteville, we visited in January 2013.
  • The Climbing Place   An 18,000 square foot climbing surface facility that is the largest indoor rock climbing center in North Carolina. It offers over 40,000 climbing holds, 60 top ropes, a massive overhang area, a 300 foot gym traverse and thousands of square feet of bouldering surface as well as a top-out boulder. We hope to visit in the future.
