Our Troop enjoyed camping at Orton Plantation Nov. 18-20th!

21 scouts & 8 adults enjoyed an excellent hiki and camping trip to Historic Orton Plantation this past weekend, Nov. 18-20th.  We met at WPPC at 4pm Friday and returned Sunday at 11:30am.  The weather was brisk Friday night and warmed wonderfully for Saturday & Sunday.....perfect Fall camping.  Events included a historic tour of Old Brunswick town, a scavenger hunt, fire building competition and wood lot skills.  Each of the 3 patrols had their own campfire for cooking and we utilized our Leave No Trace camping skills.

Troop 218 has a Blast at the 2011 District Fall Camporee !!!

Our troop had 5 scouts & 4 adult leaders enjoy incredible weather and some real fun over the weekend of Oct. 1st & 2nd.  Almost 700 scouts spent the weekend at Camp Bowers paticipating in pioneering skills and games as well as scouting fellowship.  Competitions included activities such as a hatchet toss, relay races, a chicken roundup, rifle & shotgun shooting, archery & dutch oven cooking competition. Fun events included skits, totem pole creation & full scale pioneering projects such as a ferris wheel, tower & twirl-a-wheel. With crisp Fall weather it was ideal for camping, cooking over open fires and anything outdoors.
